A write refers to creating a new memo or updating an existing memo. Every 3000 characters in a memo (uploaded document or plaintext) counts as a write. This number is equivalent to the average number of characters in a PDF document page.

Memos are the unit of knowledge in Skald. A memo can be a document, a note, a code snippet, etc. We deal with memos instead of "documents" or "pages" in Skald because these traditional concepts are becoming less relevant in an AI-native world.

Chat queries correspond to API calls to our chat endpoint. Each successful request counts as one query towards your quota.
